Each week, uclabruins.com will update and highlight select UCLA players' progress during the current MLS season. Games highlighted are from Mar. 13-18.

Chad Barrett (Los Angeles Galaxy; Years played at UCLA: 2003-04)
Barrett started at forward for the Galaxy and played 68 minutes in their 3-1 victory over DC United. Barrett had two shots in the match before he was subbed off for Edson Buddle in the 68th minute.
Galaxy record: 1-1, 3 points, 7th place in Western Conference

Tony Beltran (Real Salt Lake; Years played at UCLA: 2006-07)
Tony Beltran played all 90 minutes in defense as Real Salt Lake defeated the New York Red Bulls 2-0 on Saturday. Beltran played a key role in a Salt Lake defense that allowed just four shots on goal and prevented any serious scoring chances for the Red Bulls. Real Salt Lake is now 2-0 on the season with victories over the Galaxy and the Red Bulls.

Beltran's 2012 MLS season stats: 2GP/2GS, 180 minutes, 1 shot

David Estrada (Seattle Sounders FC; Years played at UCLA: 2006-09)
Estrada started off the 2012 season in style by scoring a hat trick to lead the Sounders to a 3-1 opening day victory over Toronto FC. Estrada started the match at forward and kicked off the scoring in the 17th minute when he battled for a loose ball in the box, eventually gaining control and putting one past the Toronto defense to earn his first ever goal in MLS play. Then in the 52nd minute, he took a through ball from teammate Alvaro Fernandez and found himself one-on-one with the Toronto keeper. Estrada promptly chipped the ball over the goalie and into the back of the net to put Seattle up 2-0. Estrada wasn't done though, and in the 63rd minute put the Sounders up for good when he took another through pass in the box from Fernandez and scored his third goal of the game to give Seattle the 3-1 win. Estrada was subbed off in the 87th minute after his stellar opening day performance and was named MLS Player of the Week for his efforts. Benny Feilhaber (New England Revolution; Years played at UCLA: 2003-04)
Feilhaber started and played 61 minutes as a central midfielder in the Revolution's 3-0 loss to Sporting Kansas City. He was subbed off for Jeremiah White in the 61st minute after recording one shot on the evening.
Revolution record: 0-2, 0 points, 10th place in Eastern Conference
This week's Revolution schedule: Mar. 24 - vs. Portland Timbers
Feilhaber's 2012 MLS season stats: 2GP/2GS, 151 minutes, 4 shots, 1 SOG

Kevin Hartman (FC Dallas; Years played at UCLA: 1995-96)
Hartman started and played all 90 minutes in goal for FC Dallas, making two saves and allowing just one goal in FC Dallas's 1-1 tie with the Portland Timbers. Hartman faced just two shots on goal but made a couple of key stops early in the second half to preserve the 1-1 tie for FC Dallas.
FC Dallas record: 1-0-1, 4 points, 5th place in Western Conference

Hartman's 2012 MLS season stats: 2GP/2GS, 180 minutes, 3 saves, 2 GA, 1.00 GAA

Jordan Harvey (Vancouver Whitecaps FC; Years played at UCLA: 2002-05)
Harvey came on as a substitute in the 71st minute and played 19 minutes in defense in Vancouver's 1-0 win over Chivas USA at the Home Depot Center on Saturday night. Harvey did not record a statistic in his 19 minutes of play.
Whitecaps record: 2-0, 6 points, 3rd place in Western Conference

Myers's 2012 MLS season stats: 2GP/0GS, 45 minutes

Patrick Ianni (Seattle Sounders FC; Years played at UCLA: 2003-05)
Ianni started and played all 90 minutes in central defense for Seattle in the Sounders' 3-1 home victory over Toronto FC. Ianni helped Seattle's defense hold Toronto to just three shots on goal and limit their scoring opportunities as the Sounders kicked off 2012 with an opening day win.
Sounders record: 1-0, 3 points, 6th place in Western Conference
This week's Sounders schedule: Mar. 23 - vs. Houston Dynamo
Ianni's 2012 MLS season stats: 1GP/1GS, 90 minutes

Chance Myers (Sporting Kansas City; Years played at UCLA: 2006-07)
Chance Myers started and played all 90 minutes at right back in Sporting Kansas City's 3-0 win over New England on Saturday. Myers recorded two of Kansas City's 27 shots in the match and was instrumental in helping Kansas City record their second consecutive shutout of an opponent. Sporting Kansas City has shutout their last four regular season opponents dating back to last year and Myers has started and played in all 90 minutes in each of those matches.

Myers's 2012 MLS season stats: 2GP/2GS, 180 minutes, 2 shots

Matt Reis (New England Revolution; Years played at UCLA: 1994-97)
Goalkeeper Matt Reis recorded four saves and played all 90 minutes in New England's 3-0 loss to Sporting Kansas City on Saturday. So far this season Reis has started both New England's games and has made four saves and allowed four goals.
Revolution record: 0-2, 0 points, 10th place in Eastern Conference
This week's Revolution schedule: Mar. 24 - vs. Portland Timbers
Reis's 2012 MLS season stats: 2GP/2GS, 180 minutes, 4 saves, 4 GA, 2.00 GAA

Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake; Years played at UCLA: 1997-99)
Rimando made four saves in Real Salt Lake's 2-0 victory over the New York Red Bulls to earn his first shutout of 2012. He has now made seven saves on the year and has led Real Salt Lake to two consecutive wins to begin the 2012 MLS Regular Season. His seven saves are also currently tied for third best in MLS.

Rimando's 2012 MLS season stats: 2GP/2GS, 180 minutes, 7 saves, 1 GA, 0.50 GAA

Kelyn Rowe (New England Revolution; Years played at UCLA: 2010-11)
Rowe continues to start and get playing time in his rookie season in MLS, starting and playing 45 minutes in the midfield in the Revolution's 3-0 loss to Sporting Kansas City. Rowe did not record any statistics, but earned his second straight start after being drafted in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft and signing a Generation Adidas contract with MLS.

Rowe's 2012 MLS season stats: 2GP/2GS, 135 minutes

Pete Vagenas (Chivas USA; Years played at UCLA: 1996-99)
Vagenas started and played 74 minutes in the central midfield for Chivas USA in their 1-0 loss to Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Vagenas was subbed off for Ben Zemanski in the 74th minute and did not record an offensive statistic while he was in the game.
Chivas USA record: 0-2, 0 points, 9th place in Western Conference

Vagenas's 2012 MLS season stats: 2GP/2GS, 133 minutes

Marvell Wynne (Colorado Rapids; Years played at UCLA: 2004-05)
Wynne started and played all 90 minutes at central defender in the Colorado's 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Union on Sunday in Philadelphia. Wynne played a key role in defense, especially in the last 30 minutes of the match, as Colorado went down a man after a red card in the 58th minute. The Rapids are now 2-0 on the season and with the help of Wynne have only allowed one goal in those two matches.

Note: Michael Stephens and Amobi Okugo were not with their respective clubs this week as they were training with the U.S. U-23 Men's National Team in Nashville, Tenn. in preparation for the 2012 London Olympics. The United States Olympic soccer team will be announced tomorrow.
