Women's Golf Roundup from the Deserts

On Sunday, the top-ranked UCLA women's golf team finished sixth at the PING/ASU Invitational and senior Tiffany Joh tied for 21st at the Kraft Nabisco Championship in Palm Springs.

The Bruins posted a team score of 300 (+12) in the final round and finished with a 54-hole total of 897 (+33), 16 strokes behind first-place Oklahoma State. Purdue captured second at 882 (+18), followed by Arizona State at 886 (+22) and USC at 891 (+27). New Mexico finished fifth at 893 (+29).

Sophomore Glory Yang led the UCLA players, tying for 11th place at 223 (+7) after posting a final round of 76 (+4). Freshman Stephanie Kono tied for 15th place at 224 (+2) after carding a 74 (+2). Senior Ryann O'Toole tied for 23rd place at 226 (+10). She posted a score of 76 (+4) in the final round. Tied for 33rd place was sophomore Maria Jose Uribe at 228 (+12) after signing for a 74 (+2) on Sunday. Finally, Sydnee Michaels tied for 43rd place at 231 (+15) following a score of 77 (+5). Playing as an individual, freshman Brianna Do tied for 82nd place at 29-over par 245.

At the LPGA's first major of the year, UCLA senior Tiffany Joh posted a final round 71 (-1) and tied for 21st place at 290 (+2). She also tied for low amateur honors. In the final round, Joh was the model of consistency, stringing together 16 straight pars before making a birdie at the par 3 17th hole. She made par at the 72nd hole.
