Storm & Souza Post Wins for Women's Track at Cougar Indoor

Ida Storm and Tatum Souza were the sole competitors for the women's track and field team at the Cougar Indoor in Pullman, WA and both made the most of it as each captured an event win on Friday.

Storm won the weight by over 11 feet as she won with a season-best mark of 66-7.25. Her throw broke the meet record and moves her into the top 10 in the NCAA this season (as of Friday might).

Souza won the pentathlon with a score of 3640 points. She posted three second-place finishes during the five-event competition - 800m (2:22.82/786 pts.), 60m hurdles (9.08/893 pts.) and shot put (38-7.50/646 pts.). Souza also finished sixth in the high jump (5-00.25/655 pts.) and third in the long jump (17-7/660 pts.).

Competition continues on Saturday in Pullman with the remainder of the Cougar Indoor. Several Bruin distance runners will also be in action in Seattle at the UW Invite.
