No. 3 UCLA Rolls Past Occidental, 18-3, at Inland Empire Classic

REDLANDS, Calif. - The No. 3 UCLA men's water polo team defeated Occidental, 18-3, in the Bruins' second of three matches Saturday at the Inland Empire Classic. Senior goalkeeper Matt Kellogg recorded six saves, as Scott Davidson, Justin Johnson, Clay Jorth and Cameron Smith each totaled two goals.

Junior Chris Allen initiated UCLA's offensive onslaught just 41 seconds into the contest and the Bruins did not look back. The Bruins raced to a 7-0 lead after the first quarter and opened its advantage to nine goals (11-2) with 6:46 to play in the third frame.

The Bruins received goals from 14 players for the second time in as many games - earlier in the afternoon, UCLA defeated Pomona-Pitzer, 22-3, as 14 Bruins found the back of the cage.

UCLA resumes play in the Inland Empire Classic on Saturday (3:40 p.m.) with a match against Redlands.
