Current, former and future Bruins will converge in Eugene, OR June 23-226 to compete at the 2011 USATF Junior/Senior National Championships. The meet will serve as qualifying for the senior World Championships and the junior PanAm Games.
Recently graduated runners Cory Primm (800m) and Joy Eaton (400m) will be competing in the senior section of the meet. Turquoise Thompson, the 2011 NCAA runner-up in the 400m hurdles, will also be in the senior meet.
Bruin alums competing during the four-day senior section of the meet include 2008 Olympic gold medalist Dawn Harper (100m hurdles), two-time NCAA champion Nicole Leach (400m hurdles), 2008 Olympic silver medalist Sheena Tosta (400m hurdles), former All-American MacKenzie Hill (400m hurdles), All-American Katy Viuf (pole vaulter), All-American and 2008 Olympian Jessica Cosby (hammer), three-time Olympian Suzy Powell Roos (discus), All-American Kevin Craddock (110m hurdles) and All-American Greg Garza (discus).
All-American sophomore-to-be Alec Faldermeyer will be competing in the junior hammer competition, while redshirt freshman Derek Eager will be in the javelin. In the 5000m, Chase Zukerman, Amjed Aboukhadijeh, Jacob Wood and Dustin Fay are slated to compete. Wood will also compete in the steeplechase. In the women's high jump, sophomore-to-be Alexis Walker will compete as the sole Bruin woman in the junior meet.
Incoming freshmen throwers Nicholas Scarvelis (shot put) and Will Parsons (discus) will also be competing in the junior portion of the meet.
