FULLERTON, Calif. - The UCLA baseball team dropped an 11-8 decision at Cal State Fullerton on Sunday evening, forcing a decisive game seven in the Fullerton Regional double-elimination format. Shortstop Brandon Crawford led the Bruins with a 2-for-4 effort, three RBI, three runs and his second home run in as many days.

UCLA (33-26) pounded out 17 hits in the loss, as seven Bruins registered multi-hit efforts. Second baseman Alden Carrithers, right fielder Brady Dolan and center fielder Blair Dunlap each went 3-for-5. Catcher Ryan Babineau and first baseman Casey Haerther each were 2-for-5 with one run and one RBI.

Cal State Fullerton (40-20) led throughout the game, but registered the decisive hit on a three-RBI double by second baseman Joel Weeks in the bottom of eighth, expanding its 8-5 lead to 11-5. Weeks was 2-for-5 with three RBI.

Titan right-hander Michael Morrison (2-2) earned the victory in relief, allowing just one run and three hits in 2.1 innings. UCLA left-hander Gavin Brooks (6-3) was tagged with his third loss of the season, allowing four runs (three earned) and one hit in 1.1 innings. Brooks issued three walks and hit two batters.

Cal State Fullerton's Adam Jorgenson registered his team-leading 11th save. Jorgenson, who entered the game with a two-run cushion (7-5) with two outs in the top of the seventh, allowed three runs and four hits in the ninth inning.

Titan right fielder Erik Komatsu led Cal State Fullerton at the plate with a 2-for-4 effort, totaling a team-leading three runs and two RBI.

Cal State Fullerton took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first, and UCLA tied the game, 1-1, in the top of the second.

The Titans captured a 5-1 lead with a four-run second inning. After catcher Dustin Garneau scored on a bases-loaded balk, Komatsu laced a two-RBI single up the middle. First baseman Jared Clark followed with a double, scoring Komatsu from first.

Bruin right fielder Brady Dolan belted his second homer of the year, a solo shot to left field, in the top of the fourth.

Cal State Fullerton scored one run in the bottom of the fourth. With two outs, Clark's high pop-fly to shallow right field dropped between Carrithers and Dolan, allowing center fielder Josh Fellhauer to score.

UCLA added two runs in the top of the fifth, cutting the Titans' cushion to 6-4. Carrithers led off the inning with a double to the gap in left-center field, and scored on a one-out triple to left-center by Crawford. Babineau followed with a single up the middle, sending home Crawford.

The Titans claimed a 7-4 advantage with one run in the bottom of the fifth. Second baseman Joe Scott doubled to left-center field and scored on a triple to the same gap by Fellhauer.

Haerther belted his team-leading 12th homer of the season, a solo blast to left field, cutting UCLA's deficit to 7-5 in the top of the seventh before the Titans added four runs in the bottom of the eighth.

UCLA rallied for three runs in the top of the ninth and sent the potential-tying run to the plate with two outs before Jorgenson induced a fielder's choice groundout to third base by Jermaine Curtis. In the ninth, Haerther singled up the middle before Crawford belted his homer to left, scoring pinch-runner Eddie Murray. Babineau drew a walk, Dolan singled off the third base bag and Dunlap singled to left field, scoring Babineau.

The Bruins will face Cal State Fullerton on Monday at 8 p.m. as the designated visiting team. Monday's game at Goodwin Field will be televised live on ESPNU.
