Nov. 30, 2011

The Bruin swimmers will travel to Austin this Thursday through Saturday to compete in the Texas Invitational. The three-day meet consists of prelims at 8:00 am (PST) and finals at 2:00 pm (PST).

This weekend's meet will be the final competition for the Bruins in 2011. So far this season, UCLA is 1-2 with a win over UC Santa Barbara and losses two Arizona and Arizona State.

The swimmers have tallied 10 NCAA "B" qualifying marks highlighted by four in the 200 butterfly. Yasi Jahanshahi and Stephanie Christofferson are double qualifiers in both the 100 and 200 fly. Noelle Tarazona is a double qualifier in the 200 fly and 400 IM. Bianca Casciari has picked up a "B" mark in the 200 fly. Andrea Reigel has a qualifier in the 100 back. Ting Quah and Cynthia Fascella each have a "B" mark in the 100 free. However, both Quah and Fascella will not compete in Texas. Fascella is out sick, while Quah suffered a broken arm over Thanksgiving break and is out for several weeks.

The meet will be broadcasted on the Longhorn Network.
