Reigning NCAA Champion and transfer from Texas Tech, Julian Wruck, had a career day in his native country of Australia over the weekend as he posted a huge lifetime-best mark of 215-7 in the discus.

Competing in Geelong, Victoria, Wruck crushed his previous personal best of 208-1 by over seven feet. That mark is an Olympic "A" qualifier for the 2012 Olympic Games and moves him to No. 2 on the Australian all-time ranking list. His mark of 215-7 also was the 25th-best mark in the world in 2011.

Although he does not qualify to break UCLA school records yet, his throw of 215-7 would have broken the 1995 mark of 213-0 by Olympic medalist John Godina (213-0).

Wruck will redshirt the 2012 track and field season due to transfer rules, but will be gunning for a spot on Team Australia at the London Olympic Games next summer. He will be eligible to compete as a Bruin in 2013.
