This Week -- The No. 1 ranked UCLA women's golf team will look to defend their 2011 title as they travel to Franklin, Tenn. to compete in the 2012 NCAA Championship from May 22-25 at Legends Golf Club.

Live Coverage -- Live scoring will be provided at golfstat.com and/or ncaa.com. Holes 9 and 18 will be webcast on the final two days at ncaa.com with a five to seven minute highlight reel to come after the competition in the third and fourth rounds.

Bruins in the National Rankings -- The Bruins are the consensus No. 1 ranked team in the country with a nation-leading seven tournament victories. They have been ranked No. 1 by the coaches for seven consecutive polling periods, their longest stretch during Coach Carrie Forsyth's tenure. UCLA has been the consensus No. 1 team since October.

Scouting the NCAA Championship -- The Bruins played the Legends Golf Course back in September at the Fall Preview and won by six strokes over Alabama. Junior Tiffany Lua (T5) and freshman Erynne Lee (T8) both recorded top 10 finishes for the Bruins. The Legends Golf Course plays a par of 72 over 6,451 yards and the tournament format will be 72 holes of stroke play with five players counting four scores for the team competition. The Bruins have six podium finishes at the NCAA Championship under Carrie Forsyth, winning titles in 2004 and 2011. In addition, UCLA won the NCAA Championship back in 1991 under Coach Jackie Tobian-Steinmann. No UCLA player has ever won the NCAA individual crown, but one -- Tiffany Joh -- tied for first in 2008 before falling in a playoff. Overall, 16 players have recorded Top 10 results at the NCAA Championship for UCLA, including Lua last year, who finished tied for fourth. "We are really looking forward to playing this week at the NCAA championship in Nashville," Forsyth said. "Historically we have had a lot of success on this course and we believe that if we are well prepared and play with poise and confidence we will have the chance to contend for the title." UCLA is paired with USC and South Carolina for the first two days of the event and will start at the first tee at 12:00 pm CT on Tuesday and the 10th tee at 7:33 am CT on Wednesday.

The Bruins' 2012 Season -- UCLA has won a nation-leading seven tournaments in 11 starts and has finished no worse than runnerup in three others. The Bruins won the Mason Rudolph Fall Preview, the Stanford Intercollegiate, the Rainbow Wahine Invitational, the Regional Challenge, the PING/ASU Invitational, the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate and tied for first at the NCAA West Regional. The Bruins have recorded second place results at the SEC/Pac-12 Challenge, the Wildcat Invitational and the Bruin Wave Invitational. On Apr. 29, the Bruins finished fourth at the Pac-12 Conference Championship.

Players in the National Rankings -- Three Bruins are ranked among the nation's Top 15 players in either of the latest GolfStat or GolfWeek rankings: Erynne Lee (4/5), Lee Lopez (11/12) and Tiffany Lua (9/11). Sophomore Ani Gulugian is ranked 31st by GolfWeek and 23rd by GolfStat while senior Brianna Do is ranked 68th by GolfStat and 57th by GolfWeek. Finally, freshman Kyle Roig is ranked 84th by GolfStat. All but Roig will compete in the NCAA Championship.

Recapping the NCAA West Regional -- UCLA won their seventh NCAA Regional title under Coach Carrie Forsyth last weekend, overcoming a six shot deficit on the final day to tie with LSU for the NCAA West Regional title. The win extended UCLA's school record to 12 straight NCAA Championship appearances and was also their seventh victory of the season, tying another school record. UCLA shot a final round score of 287 (-1) to finish tied for first place with the LSU Tigers at 873 (+9) for the tournament. Individually, sophomore Ani Gulugian led the way for UCLA with a final round 71 (-1) to finish at 216 (E) for the tournament, putting her in a tie for sixth place. It was Gulugian's fifth top-10 finish of the season. Senior Brianna Do also put together a great round, equaling Gulugian with a final round 71 (-1) to finish with a total score of 220 (+4), good for a tie for 16th place. The Bruins will compete with the same lineup from the NCAA Regionals at the NCAA Championship.

Five Bruins Named to All Pac-12 Team -- All five of UCLA's starters this year were named to the Pac-12 All-Conference team. Lua, Lopez and Lee each earned First-Team All-Pac-12 honors, Gulugian earned second-team acclaim and Do was voted onto the honorable mention list. UCLA led the league with five all-conference selections.

Head Coach Carrie Forsyth -- One of the nation's pre-eminent college golf coaches, Forsyth has guided the Bruins to a pair of NCAA team championships, including the 2011 title at Texas A&M. In nearly 13 full seasons, she has led the Bruins to 47 team titlles, including seven NCAA Regional Championships, three conference titles and a school record 12 consecutive NCAA Championship berths. In addition, she has coached 15 different All-Americans, including 12 first-team selections, three Pac-12 Newcomers of the Year and a pair of conference players of the year. 16 different players in the Forsyth Era have won 27 tournaments and 21 players have earned all-conference certificates. Finally, she was inducted into the NGCA Coaches Hall of Fame in December, voted conference coach of the year four times (including 2011) and was named the 2004 National Coach of the Year.
