WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Sophomore Kelly Reeves has been named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after averaging 4.50 digs, 2.00 kills and 1.00 blocks per set in #1 UCLA's two victories over #10 Washington and Washington State last weekend.

Reeves was one dig shy of tying a career high with 18 digs on Friday against the Huskies. She added four kills, one ace and two blocks, including one solo stuff. Reeves had nine digs and two kills in the opening set. She added five digs, two blocks and two kills in the second and four digs in the third.

On Sunday against the Cougars, Reeves was just shy of a double-double with nine digs and eight kills, adding four blocks. She had five digs and three kills in the first, committing no hitting errors in seven attempts. Reeves posted three blocks, two digs and three kills in the second and two digs, one block and two kills in the third.

Reeves is second on the team with 2.86 digs per set, adding 2.12 kills per set.

It is Reeves' second Defensive POW honor of the season after she also received the award on Sept. 26. Reeves, who was also named AVCA National POW following her first honor, is tied with senior Lainey Gera and Washington's Bianca Rowland with a pair of DPOW awards this year.

This season marks the first in which the conference has awarded Offensive, Defensive and Freshman Player of the Week accolades. The Bruins have earned seven weekly awards this season, tied for the most in the conference with California. Last week, Gera and junior Rachael Kidder were named Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, respectively. Gera received her first Defensive POW honor of the season on Oct. 17. Reeves and freshman Zoë Nightingale were named Defensive and Freshman Players of the Week, respectively, on Sept. 26, while Kidder received Offensive POW accolades on Sept. 5. UCLA now has 62 all-time weekly conference recognitions. The Bruins were also the first team this season to earn all three awards.
