Box Score

LOS ANGELES - Senior Danesha Adams enjoyed her second straight multiple-goal match on Sunday, helping the sixth-ranked UCLA women's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over San Francisco at the UCLA Women's Cup. With the win, UCLA moves to 2-1 overall, while USF suffers its first loss of the season, falling to 0-1-2.

Adams' first goal came in the 11th minute of play, as defender Lauren Wilmoth played a ball into the box, finding the feet of midfielder Christina DiMartino. DiMartino gathered it and pushed it across the goal where Adams ran onto it and buried a shot from seven yards out.

The Bruins were up 1-0 at the half and took a 2-0 lead at the 71:19 mark, as Adams blasted in a free kick from just outside the top of the box. It marked the fifth goal of the weekend for Adams, who had a hat trick in UCLA's 4-2 victory over Illinois on Friday.

DiMartino capped the scoring for UCLA in the 76th minute, one-timing a ball sent in from freshman Sarah Salazar and sophomore Lauren Cheney.

Goalkeeper Valerie Henderson picked up her second victory of the season, making two saves on the afternoon. She was relieved in the 76th minute by Ashley Thompson. A total of 22 players saw action on Sunday, as the Bruins outshot the Dons, 21-5. Freshmen Taylor Cochran and Liz Zadro saw their first collegiate action this afternoon.

The Dons are coached by Mark Carr, who is in his first season at San Francisco after serving as an assistant coach at UCLA from 2003-06.

The other match of the UCLA Women's Cup on Sunday saw Illinois defeat Cal State Northridge, 4-0.

UCLA returns to action on Friday, traveling to San Diego for a 7:30 p.m. match.
