Bruins Continue Play at ITA All-American Championships

Los Angeles - The UCLA men's and women's tennis teams are still in contention for doubles titles in a pair of national tournaments, as both teams continued play at their respective ITA All-American Championships on Thursday.

At the D'Novo/ITA All-American held at the University of Tulsa, men's tennis player Nick Meister fell in the second round of singles action. After defeating Binghampton's Sven Vloedgraven, 6-2, 6-3 in the opening round, Meister was beaten by ninth-seeded Alexandre Lacroix of Florida, 1-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Amit Inbar and Meister won their opening doubles match on Thursday, posting an 8-3 victory over Texas A&M's Alberto Bautista/Colin Hoover. The fifth-seeded Bruin duo will next face Michigan's Jason Jung/Evan King in the round of 16 on Friday.

At the Riviera/ITA All-American held at the nearby Riviera Tennis Club, Bruin senior Noelle Hickey was beaten in the first round by Michigan's Denise Muresan, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.

Similar to the men, the UCLA women were able to advance to the second round in doubles when Courtney Dolehide and Andrea Remynse, the tournament's seventh-seeded team, beat Kentucky's Megan Broderick/Khristina Blajkevitch, 9-8(7). Next up is a meeting with qualifiers Sasha Krupina/Caroline Lilley of Georgia Tech on Friday.
