UCLA's Ryan Deeter Named Pac-12 All-Academic Selection

2012 Pac-12 All-Academic Teams Get Acrobat Reader

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - UCLA's Ryan Deeter has captured first-team Pac-12 All-Academic honors, as announced by the conference office Tuesday. Tyler Heineman and Zack Weiss were named honorable mention Pac-12 All-Academic selections.

Deeter, a redshirt sophomore right-hander from Newark, Calif., has gone 1-0 with a 0.94 ERA in 28.2 innings as UCLA's primary setup reliever. Majoring in math/economics, Deeter is one of nine first-team All-Academic selections.

Heineman, a junior catcher from Pacific Palisades, Calif., has batted .351 with one home run, seven doubles, 26 RBI and 40 runs in 54 starts. Majoring in psychology, Heineman is among 37 honorable mention selections.

Weiss, a sophomore pitcher from Irvine, Calif., has gone 3-2 with a 4.04 ERA in 16 appearances (12 starts). Majoring in geography/environmental studies, Weiss has logged 44 strikeouts and 29 walks in 69.0 innings.
