UCLA senior Chris Heintz won the Cal State San Marcos Invitational Tuesday, leading a contingent of six UCLA players that finished in the Top 25. The tournament was played at San Luis Rey Downs in Bonsall, CA.
Heintz fired rounds of 67-75-74--216 (E) and beat teammate Lucas Lee and Matt Determan of Cal State San Marcos by four shots. The victory was Heintz's second of his collegiate career. Last year he won the Braveheart Classic. Lee posted rounds of 76-72-72--220 (+4).
Junior Brandon Christianson carded rounds of 77-78-73--228 (+12) and tied for 10th place, followed by classmate Craig Leslie who tied for 13th at 229 (+13) with scores of 76-77-76. Freshmen Charlie Harris and Jason Kang tied for 15th and 22nd, respectively. Harris posted scores of 79-76-75--230 (+14) and Kang recorded rounds of 78-76-78--232 (+16).
