Sixth-ranked UCLA, halfway through its six-match road trip, travels to Cal State Northridge for a key league match on Fri., Feb. 22. First-serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Matadome.

On Wednesday, the Bruins fell 3-1 on the road to UC Santa Barbara to drop into a fourth place tie with Pepperdine in the MPSF race. Cal State Northridge defeated visiting UC Irvine, 3-0 to cement its position as the league's third place team with a 7-3 record.
Friday's match features two teams headed in opposite directions. The Bruins have lost three of their last five matches; the Matadors have won four straight.
At UCSB, the Bruins saw four players record double-digit kills led by juniors Sean O'Malley and Ryan Ratelle, who each spiked 16. But an inconsistent hitting attack produced untimely hitting errors and an attack percentage of .253.
Conversely, UCSB hit .341 led by freshman Jeff Menzel, who spiked 21 kills.
Cal State Northridge out-gunned UC Irvine 54-39 in kills on Wednesday, led by 23 from junior Eric Vance and 12 from senior Isaac Kneubuhl. The Matadors improved to 11-4 overall and are ranked fourth nationally this week.
In the recent series between the two schools, UCLA has won three straight against CSUN and leads the overall series, 54-7.
