Sophomore Allie Bohannon picked up her second NCAA provisional qualifier of the season to lead the No. 5 Bruin women at the MPSF Indoor Championships in Seattle, WA.
UCLA finished eighth overall with 40.50 points, while Arizona State won the MPSF title with 135 points.
Bohannon, who currently ranks 13th in the nation in the mile (4:41.35), finished third in the 800m in a lifetime-best run of 2:08.40. That time also is one of the top-25 marks in the nation this season and dropped nearly three seconds off of her previous lifetime-best, 2:11.02.
Also in the 800m, sophomore Lauren Jirges ran over a three second lifetime-best (2:13.01) to finish ninth overall. Freshman Rosa Magana also ran a lifetime-best, 2:13.64, to place 11th. Senior Allison Hall ran a season-best 2:14.27 for 13th-place. Sophomore Gabrielle Bournes missed her lifetime-best by .01 seconds as she ran 2:15.74 to finish 15th. Junior Shantae McKinney was 17th (2:17.78) and freshman Krishna Curry was 18th (2:24.01).
In the mile, senior Ashley Caldwell ran a season-best 4:51.20 to finish fourth overall, while Hall placed 14th with her time of 5:02.37.
The Bruins return home to open up the indoor season on Saturday, March 3 as they host the UCLA Invitational. Those that have qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships will wrap up that season March 9-10 in Fayetteville, AR.
