OMAHA, Neb. - Senior Nellie Spicer earned AVCA First-Team All-America honors for the third time on Wednesday to become the third Bruin to accomplish the feat, while senior Jessica Fine was recognized as a Third-Team All-America.

Spicer joins Daiva Tomkus and Natalie Williams as the only Bruins to receive three first-team awards. Fine's honor is her first mention on the All-America team. UCLA has received 39 AVCA All-America awards and 23 first-team honors since 1981.

Spicer finished her illustrious career second all-time at UCLA in assists (6,000) and third in digs (1,299). She placed first on the team, fourth in the Pac-10 and 43rd in the nation with 10.77 assists per set. Spicer led the Bruins in double-doubles with 17, posting 67 for her career, and was also third on the squad in digs per set at 2.45. Along with her All-America accolades, Spicer was named AVCA All-Pacific Region First Team for the third year in a row and All-Pacific-10 Conference First Team for the fourth consecutive season.

Fine's 590 digs were the second-best, single-season total in school history (Chrissie Zartman, 708, 2004). She also placed second on UCLA's single-season list for digs per set (Zartman, 5.90) and was 13th all-time with 1,105 digs.
