Junior-to-be Laura Winn wrapped up her summer training with a 26th-place finish at the U.S. Diving AT&T Senior National Championships, held in Tallahassee, FL over the weekend. This was Winn's first ever national level meet, and she competed with great success.
The Pac-10 runner-up on tower was 12th heading into her last dive. The top 18 athletes advanced to the semifinal. The last round proved to be a little too much, as Winn dropped to 26th with a score of 207.25.
"Laura's last dive is the last of three new dives she learned this spring and summer," said Stebbins. "While her execution was actually very good, her nerves got the best of her causing her to pull the dive long. I am extremely proud of how Laura handled herself out there. She competed very well, and has set an enormous foundation for her future with the work she did this entire year."
The Bruin divers now break until their preseason starts September 10th.
