Swimming & Diving Heads To NorCal This Weekend

The No. 22 UCLA swimming and diving team will travel to NorCal this weekend to face off with two top five teams. The Bruins face No. 1 Stanford on Friday at 1:00 pm and No. 4 Cal on Saturday at 12:00 pm.

UCLA is 9-1 on the season (3-1 Pac-10) with their only loss coming to No. 7 Arizona back in November. Stanford is 6-0 on the year, while Cal is 4-1.

The Bruins will be without senior diver Karina Silva this weekend as she will be back home in Madrid competing at Spanish Nationals on Thursday and Friday. The meet will be used as a qualifier for the World Championships and is also a Grand Prix Meet.

At the completion of the two dual meets up North, divers Laura Winn and Paulina Guzman will travel to Iowa City, IA to compete at the U.S. Diving National Championships Qualifying. Guzman will compete on 3M on Sunday and 1M on Monday. Winn will compete on platform on Monday. The top 13 finishers on both springboards and the top 18 finishers on platform will advance to the National Championship, which begin on Tuesday.

  • Brittany Beauchan - 200 breast, 7th (2:09.69); 100 breast, 17th (1:00.58)
  • Yasi Jahanshahi - 100 fly, 11th (52.94); 200 fly, 20th (1:58.20)
  • Bianca Casciari - 100 fly, 20th (53.42)
  • Lauren Hall - 200 IM, 11th (1:58.50); 400 IM, 8th (4:09.03)
  • 200 Free Relay - 22nd (1:32.07)
