All Three UCLA Players Among the Top 25 after Day One of the USWAPL

UCLA's three golfers were all among the Top 25 invididuals after the first round of competition Monday in the 31st U.S. Women's Amateur Publinks Championship at Kearney Hill Golf Links in Lexington, KY.

The USWAPL features 36 holes of stroke play, June 18 and 19, before the top 64 plyers advance to match play.

Junior Ryann O'Toole posted a first round 71 (-1) and was tied for fifth place after 18 holes. O'Toole made four birdies and three bogeys for nines of 37-34. She finished her day with a birdie on the 18th hole.

Incoming freshman Glory Yang of Temecula, Calif., was tied for eighth after an even par round of 72 (E). Yang carded three birdies and three bogeys before finishing her day with three straight pars.

Junior Tiffany Joh, the defending champion, went out in even par 36, but came in at two-over par 38 for a score of 74 (+2).

Second round action continues on Tuesday.
