UCLA's Britta Syverson Selected to U-23 National Rowing Team

WEST WINDSOR, N.J. - UCLA rising junior Britta Syverson has been selected to represent the United States at the 2011 World Rowing Under 23 Championships from July 21-24 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Syverson will be rowing in the 2x (double), as she and her partner Nicole Bielawski qualified the boat by winning U23 trials last week at Mercer Lake in West Windsor, N.J. Syverson and Bielawski won the time trial Tuesday, June 28, and won the final on Wednesday, June 29, after training with the USRowing Under 23 National Team Selection Camp.

Syverson has rowed in UCLA's varsity eight crew in each of her two seasons with the program. As a sophomore in 2011, she secured first-team All-CRCA West Region honors and All-Pac-10 Team acclaim.
