LOS ANGELES - Freshman Daniel Kosakowski captured the consolation singles title on Sunday as UCLA concluded play at the 54th Southern California Intercollegiate Championships at the Los Angeles Tennis Center.
After suffering an upset in the main draw's opening round on Thursday, Kosakowski posted three wins in the back draw, culminating with a 3-6, 6-3, (10-8) victory over USC's J.T. Sundling in the consolation final on Sunday.
Sophomore Maxime Tabatruong didn't fare as well in the main draw final, falling to USC's Jaak Poldma, 6-3, 6-2. Tabatruong had not dropped a set in the tournament heading into Sunday's final.
