UCLA (9-3), ranked 17th in this week's Associated Press poll and 16th in the USA Today Coaches Poll, travels to Stanford (10-2 and ranked 8th in AP and 9th in USA Today poll) on Friday, Nov. 30 at 5:00 p.m. PT for the Pac-12 Championship Game. This is UCLA's second straight appearance in the game as the South Division Champion. The contest will be televised by FOX with Gus Johnson and Charles Davis in the booth and Julie Alexandria on the sidelines. The Bruin IMG Radio Network (Chris Roberts, Matt Stevens and Wayne Cook) will radio broadcast the contest on 570am in the Los Angeles area. The game will also be radio broadcast nationally on ESPN radio (Bill Rosinski, David Norris, Joe Schad) and SIRIUS (Ch. 84)/ XM (Ch. 84).
**Senior running back Johnathan Franklin (4,671) needs 18 all-purpose yards to break Maurice Jones-Drew's school record of 4,688 career all-purpose yards.
**Franklin's career rushing total of 4,175 yards ranks fifth on the Pac-12 list (4th is Marcus Allen of USC, 1978-81- 4,810)
**Franklin needs 65 yards rushing to tie Karim Abdul-Jabbar for the school single-season rushing record

After going into the half with a 21-10 lead last Saturday, Stanford scored two touchdowns in a 13-second span of the third quarter to take a 35-10 lead. Johnathan Franklin ran for a touchdown late in the third quarter to make it 35-17, which was the final score.
Last year on the Farm, UCLA took the opening kickoff and marched inside the five-yard line but could not turn the drive into points. Then No. 6/4 ranked-Stanford took over and drove the length of the field to take a 7-0 lead and was never headed in a 45-19 win. Joseph Fauria caught two scoring passes from Richard Brehaut in the contest. In 2010, Stanford jumped to a 13-0 halftime lead in a game played in the Rose Bowl. Following a Kai Forbath missed field goal attempt, Stanford proceeded to score 14 points in nine seconds, on a touchdown run and a fumble return, to take a 28-0 advantage into the fourth quarter and went on to a 35-0 win. In the last series win by the Bruins, the 2008 contest played at the Rose Bowl, Kevin Craft hit Cory Harkey with a seven-yard scoring pass with 10 seconds to play to give the Bruins a dramatic victory.

The Bruins last won the conference championship in the 1998 season under then head coach Bob Toledo. UCLA went 10-2 that season and was 8-0 in Pac-10 play. It advanced to the 1999 Rose Bowl game and dropped a 38-31 decision to Wisconsin.
The last time UCLA went into the final game of the season with a Rose Bowl bid in the balance, prior to last season, was in 2007. If UCLA had defeated USC that year, the Bruins would have had an opportunity to win the Pac-10 tiebreaker of teams which finished with a 6-3 record and represent the conference in the Rose Bowl game.
UCLA is bowl eligible in 2012. It has played in bowl games in eight of the last 10 seasons (not 2010, 2008). It is the first time the Bruins have been eligible before the month of November since 2005.
UCLA AND THE BCS
UCLA is ranked No. 16 in the BCS Standings this week. The last time UCLA was ranked in the BCS, prior to this season, was on Dec. 3, 2006, at No. 25. The Bruins have moved into the BCS rankings in the 1998, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2012 seasons. The Bruins have been ranked as high as No. 1 in the rankings and were No.1 in the very first BCS ranking released on Oct. 26, 1998.
