Junior Rachael Kidder was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Pacific Region First Team on Tuesday, her first-career, All-Region award.
Kidder, who also earned All-Pac-12 first-team honors last week, leads the Bruins with 4.56 kills and 5.12 points per set. She is also averaging 2.02 digs and 0.75 blocks per set. Kidder has seven matches this season with at least 20 kills and 28 double-figure kills contests. She has led the Bruins in kills for a match 25 times and has 16 straight contests with double figures in kills. Kidder was named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week twice this season on Sept. 5 and Oct. 31.
Kidder's award is the 52nd AVCA All-Region mention in UCLA history and the 40th first-team honor.
The Bruins travel to Kentucky for the Lexington Regional this weekend. Ninth-seeded UCLA will take on #8-seed Penn State on Friday at 2 p.m. PT. The match will be broadcast online at ESPN3.com.
