MARINA DEL REY, Calif. - The UCLA women's rowing program conducted a set of scrimmage races against Gonzaga on Saturday morning, racing six boats against the Bulldogs in the Bruins' second spring contest of the season.
The Bruins had a successful morning, using varying distances of 1500 meters, 1000 meters and 500 meters. UCLA's first and second varsity eight crews raced against Gonzaga's varsity eight, before the Bruins' freshman and open eight crews competed against the Bulldogs' second varsity eight.
UCLA raced two varsity four crews against Gonzaga's varsity four. Saturday morning's scrimmage allowed UCLA to accrue training time on the water as the student-athletes move into Finals Week at the conclusion of the Winter Quarter.
UCLA returns to action at the two-day San Diego Crew Classic on April 6-7.
