The consensus No.2 ranked UCLA men's golf team was tied for fifth place after 36 holes at the Insperity Augusta State Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, GA.
The Bruins posted a team score of 582 (+6) and were tied with host Augusta State. Top-ranked Oklahoma State built a 10-shot lead heading into the final round with a two-round total of 556 (-20). Tennessee was second at 566 (-10), followed by third-place Clemson at 575 (-1) and fourth-place Alabama at 580 (+4).
Individually, UCLA junior Gregor Main was tied for ninth place at 143 (-1) after posting rounds of 73-70. Freshman Patrick Cantlay was tied for 25th at 146 (+2) following scores of 74-72. Sophomore Pontus Widegren was tied for 34th place at 148 (+4) after carding scores of 78-70 and junior Alex Shi Yup Kim was tied for 45th place at 149 (+5) following rounds of 75-74. Freshman Anton Arboleda was in 58th place at 151 (+7) after signing for scores of 74-77.
Playing as an individual for the Bruins was sophomore Pedro Figueiredo, who was tied for 20th at 145 (+1) after posting rounds of 71-74.
Oklahoma State's Kevin Tway was the 36-hole leader at 11-under par 133 following rounds of 64-69. He held a four-shot lead over Tennessee's Danny Keddie at 137 (-7).
