A full squad of nine male runners, along with four women's runners will head down the 405 to La Jolla, CA on Saturday for the UCSD Triton Invitational.
The men's team has been making noise on the national scene as it started the pre-season ranked 22nd, moved to No. 21 last week, and now stands at No. 18 in the latest U.S. Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association poll. After a strong fifth-place showing at the Bill Dellinger Invite in Oregon last weekend, the men are well on their way to reaching their goals this season.
This weekend, nine runners will compete with the goal of seeing who will make the two spots needed to finalize the roster for the Pre-NCAA Invite in Terre Haute, IN. A predominantly freshmen class will run, but senior Henry Hagenbuch and sophomore Marlon Patterson should lead the way this weekend.
