BRUIN INJURY REPORT
Mustafa Abdul-Hamid tore a ligament in his right wrist in practice in October. He had surgery on Dec. 23 to repair the damage and is out the rest of the season. Malcolm Lee had a MRI on his left knee on Dec. 27, which was inconclusive, and has missed the Bruins' last three games. He is probable for Sunday's game at USC. J'mison Morgan strained his left groin at Oregon and is questionnable for the game at USC.

SERIES vs. USC
This is the 227th meeting between UCLA and the USC Trojans with the Bruins leading the series 126-100. The Bruins have won both meetings in the Galen Center, winning 65-64 in 2007 and 56-46 last year. USC was led by Taj Gibson's 16 points and 12 rebounds. Dwight Lewis also had 16 points while O.J. Mayo struggled with four points and 10 turnovers. Darren Collison led UCLA with 14 points. The Bruins received double-doubles from Kevin Love (13 pts., 11 rebs.) and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute (10 pts., 10 rebs.). Head Coach Ben Howland is 7-4 all-time against USC while Tim Floyd is 2-5 vs. UCLA.

POLLING UCLA
UCLA moved up two spots in both polls this week to No. 7 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll and No. 10 in the Associated Press poll, released on Jan. 5, 2009. UCLA has been ranked in the top 25 in the Associated Press poll for 65 straight weeks (since the 2005-06 preseason rankings) and in the top 25 in the Coaches Poll for 67 straight weeks (since the final poll of 2004-05), which is the longest streak in the nation.

COACH HOWLAND WINS NO. 300
UCLA Head Coach Ben Howland earned his 300th victory of his career (14th season) with the 72-54 win over DePaul in the 15th Annual John R. Wooden Classic (Dec. 13, 2008). He is currently 306-146 (.677), which ranks 25th on the winningest active coaches list by percentage and 68th on the active list by victories. Howland's first career victory was his first game at Northern Arizona in 1994, a 71-69 victory over New Mexico Highlands. His 100th career victory came in his second season at Pittsburgh with the 77-65 win at home over Seton Hall (Jan. 13, 2001). His 200th win came in his third season at UCLA with the 56-37 home win over Delaware State (Nov. 19, 2005).

COLLISON BREAKS UCLA FREE THROW RECORD
Senior point guard Darren Collison has made 40 consecutive free throws to set a UCLA record, surpassing Henry Bibby's streak of 36 straight in 1972.
