Kyle Anderson Named UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of Week

March 5, 2013

Freshman Kyle Anderson (Fairview, N.J./St. Anthony HS) of the UCLA men's basketball team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Feb. 25-Mar. 3.

Anderson averaged 19.0 points and 11.0 rebounds in UCLA's two wins last week, helping push the Bruins into a first-place tie with Oregon in the Pac-12 standings. Anderson made 46.7 percent of his field goal attempts and was a perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line. The freshman from Fairview, N.J., was one of three UCLA freshmen to score over 20 points in a 79-74 overtime win against Arizona State on Wednesday. In that contest, he was a perfect 8-for-8 shooting free throws and registered his eighth double-double of the season (21 points, 15 rebounds). Three days later in the Bruins' 74-69 win over No. 11 Arizona, Anderson scored 15 of his 17 points in the first half and finished with seven rebounds and three assists. Anderson has scored in double figures in each of UCLA's last four games. He has logged at least 10 rebounds in 11 contests.

This is Anderson's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of his career.
