Senior Madeleine Stanton and sophomore Lauren Hall will represent the Bruin swimmers at the NCAA Championships March 19-21 in College Station, TX. The NCAA field for the swimming events was announced on Wednesday.

Stanton and Hall have had record-breaking seasons with Stanton setting school records in the 100 back and 200 back and Hall breaking the school mark in the 400 IM. At NCAAs, Stanton will compete in both backstroke events, while Hall competes in the 400 IM and 200 breaststroke.

Three women nearly missed making the NCAA cut after swimming fast times at Pac-10s last weekend:

  • Isabell Fischer missed by 2 spots in the 100 backstroke
  • Sam Vanden Berge missed by 3 spots in the 1650
  • Dani Milligan missed by 3 spots in the 400 IM and a few more in the 1650

The divers will compete March 12-14 at the NCAA Zone E Championships for a spot at Nationals. Five Bruins will be heading to Austin to qualify for NCAAs - seniors Marisa Samaniego, Tess Schofield and Brittany Hill, sophomore Laura Winn and freshman Alyssa Robinson. Seven spots to NCAAs are up for grabs at the meet.
