No. 10 UCLA Women's Tennis Travels to Face No. 9 USC This Friday
In its final match of the regular season, the 10th-ranked UCLA women's tennis team (17-5; 5-2) heads across town this Friday to take on No. 9 USC (19-2; 7-0 Pac-10) at the Marks Tennis Stadium beginning at 3:00 p.m. Unlike last year's showdown which had Pac-10 title implications, Friday's meeting is solely for bragging rights, as the undefeated Women of Troy have already guaranteed themselves at least a share of the 2009 Pac-10 title. It will mark the second meeting between the two teams this season, as UCLA posted a 4-3 victory over USC back on March 5 at the Los Angeles Tennis Center. That match did not count in the conference standings. Live stats and video for Friday's match can be accessed by clicking HERE.

Bruins Aiming for Sixth Straight Win Over Women of Troy
UCLA is looking for its sixth straight victory over USC. The streak started when the Bruins posted a 4-3 win over USC in the last match of the 2007 regular season. The Bruins then took all three meetings last season, winning twice in the regular season and once more in the round of 16 of the NCAA Tournament. UCLA's fifth straight win in the series was on March 5 of this year at the LATC.

Did You Know?
UCLA's five straight wins over USC are bookended by match-clinching victories by Ashley Joelson. On April 21, 2007, Joelson battled back from 5-3 down in the third set to come back and defeat Dianne Matias, 3-6, 6-2, 7-6(2) in the last match to give UCLA the 4-3 win. Joelson duplicated that feat earlier this season, posting a 4-6, 7-6(5), 6-4 victory over Alison Ramos, again breaking a 3-3 tie to give the Bruins the win.

UCLA in the Campbell's/ITA Rankings
UCLA moved up one spot from No. 11 to No. 10 in the Campbell's/ITA Team Rankings released on Tuesday. Individual rankings were also released for the first time in two weeks. Yasmin Schnack is the Bruins' highest ranked singles player at No. 15. She is followed by No. 53 Andrea Remynse and No. 95 Maya Johansson. In doubles, In doubles, Remynse and Schnack are down from No. 2 to No. 4, while Carling Seguso and Stephanie Wetmore are ranked No. 56. Complete rankings can be accessed by clicking HERE.

Ojai Just Around the Corner
The annual Pac-10 Championships in Ojai, Calif. is just a week away, as this year's tournament will run from April 23-26. The individual tournament features two flights (Main Draw & Invitational Draw) for both singles and doubles. UCLA won both singles titles last year, with Riza Zalameda winning the main draw, and Alex McGoodwin taking the Invitational crown. Yasmin Schnack and Zalameda were the last Bruin tandem to win the main draw doubles title, capturing it in 2007. More information about the tournament can be found at www.ojaitourney.org

NCAA Selections Set for April 28
