LOS ANGELES - Head UCLA women's tennis coach Stella Sampras Webster landed one of the nation's top players on Friday, as Courtney Dolehide of Illinois signed a national letter of intent to join the Bruins in the fall of 2010.

Dolehide, who attends Hinsdale Central High School in Hinsdale, Ill., is currently listed at the nation's No. 7 overall recruit in the class of 2010 according to TennisRecruiting.net. She turned in a solid performance at this year's USTA Girls' 18s National Championships in Berkeley, Calif., reaching the round of 16 in singles and the doubles final with partner Kristie Ahn. She also reached the round of 16 in both singles and doubles at the ITF Easter Bowl Championships in Palm Springs, Calif. Dolehide's other highlights include third-place finishes in both singles and doubles at the USTA Winter National Championships in 2008, and a semifinal showing in singles at the USTA Spring National Championships in March of this year. On the international stage, she represented the United States in both the Orange Bowl and Eddie Herr International Junior Championships in 2008. Dolehide is currently listed at No. 5 in the latest USTA Girls' 18s Singles Rankings.

In addition to her junior career, Dolehide has also excelled while playing as an amateur on the ITF Women's Pro Circuit. She qualified and advanced all the way to the singles final in Wichita in June, and notched a quarterfinal appearance in the Bronx this past August, defeating top 100 WTA Tour player Patricia Mayr in the quarterfinals. Dolehide played in the main doubles draw at this year's U.S. Open Championships in Flushing Meadows, NY.

"We're obviously excited to have Courtney join on program and become a Bruin starting next fall," said Sampras Webster. "Not only has she turned in some great results at the junior level, she has also been playing some of the lower-level professional events and done extremely well. I fully expect she will step in and make a difference for this program from day one."
