LOS ANGELES - Sophomore Jessica Hall tossed her fourth complete-game shutout of the season and struck out a career-high 11, while seniors Samantha Camuso and Dani Yudin and sophomore Alyssa Tiumalu each hit home runs, as the 15th-ranked Bruins defeated Utah 5-0 on Friday night at Easton Stadium.

UCLA moves to 31-12 overall and 7-6 in Pac-12 play, while Utah falls to 23-19 and 0-13 in league action. Bruin head coach Kelly Inouye-Perez records her 250th-career coaching victory.

Hall, who allowed just two hits, was in total control in the circle, retiring the first three batters of the game, nine in a row at one point between the third and the sixth and the final five of the contest. She struck out the side in the second and two in both the sixth and seventh, improving to 15-7 on the season. At the plate, six different Bruins had one hit.

UCLA got on the board in the bottom of the third. With one out, Tiumalu powered a 2-2 pitch out to left-center for her first home run of the season.

The Bruins tacked on another homer in the fifth. With one out, Camuso launched her 10th of the year over the right-field wall to make it 2-0.

UCLA scored three more times in the sixth. Again with one out, senior Andrea Harrison singled up the middle and moved to second on a passed ball. After a walk to junior B.B. Bates, and with freshman Sam Duran coming in to run for Harrison, Yudin smashed her seventh homer of the season to left-center to increase the Bruins' lead to 5-0.

The Bruins continue their series with Utah on Saturday at 6 p.m. Gametracker and free audio will be available at UCLABruins.com, as well as live updates at twitter.com/uclasoftball.
