"It was a really strong win for us, to open up New Pauley Pavilion. We were hyped up in the beginning and a little too fast, missing shots we would usually make. The players were too amped - it was the first time they saw the lights go down, the new introductions and the phenomenal crowd. We were pleased with the beautiful atmosphere. We started slow, but began to loosen up, especially with Adams and Lamb's big threes.
"Tyler [Lamb] has been out for a month, but his minutes tonight were critical. Larry Drew did a great job for us with his unselfish play and five assists to zero turnovers. He dislocated a joint in his finger, but he'll be OK. Jordan [Adams] had a huge game and he's been playing like that since China. He's very skilled, can shoot and just has game.
"In the first half, we allowed too many second shots and were not blocking out. We did a much better job on the glass in the second half and we got double-doubles from David Wear and Kyle Anderson. Overall, it was a good beginning and hopefully, we will build on it."
