LOS ANGELES - The UCLA women's water polo program has signed eight high school seniors to National Letters of Intent, as announced this week by third-year head coach Brandon Brooks.
The Bruins' incoming group features seven standouts from the USA Junior National Program and one player from the Canadian Junior National Team. The eight signees enroll at UCLA in the fall of 2012 and begin their collegiate water polo careers in January 2013.
"I'm incredibly proud to call this incoming group of girls Bruins" Brooks said. "This is an outstanding bunch of young student-athletes with depth and skill in all areas. They have the potential to keep our standard of success very high here in Westwood. I'm proud of their work ethic and dedication to being great athletes, students and people. We all look forward to their continued progress and bright futures."

UCLA's recruiting class features four high school seniors who were named first-team All-CIF Southern Section Division I selections last spring - Rachel Fattal (Los Alamitos HS), Madison McLaren (Newport Harbor HS), Alex Musselman (Corona del Mar HS) and Alys Williams (Edison HS).
In addition, the Bruins' talented incoming group includes Alexa Tielmann, a standout in Canada's national water polo program, All-CIF Southern Section Division II selections India Forster (Agoura HS) and Charlotte Pratt (Burlingame HS), and Dos Pueblos High School standout Kodi Hill.
Fattal competed for the USA Women's Junior National Team last summer at the FINA Junior World Championships alongside current UCLA student-athletes Sami Hill, Brooke Martin and Emily Greenwood. She secured 2011 Sunset League Co-Player of the Year honors after leading Los Alamitos to the Sunset League title.
Forster earned Player of the Year accolades in 2011 from the Ventura County Star after leading Agoura High School with 101 goals en route to the Marmonte League championship.
Hill secured All-CIF Southern Section Division I accolades as a sophomore and junior at Dos Pueblos High School. She earned Most Valuable Player acclaim at the 2010 Junior Olympics in the U-16 Girls Division.
McLaren led Newport Harbor High School with 60 goals last spring. She was selected to the USA Water Polo Youth National Travel Team in the summer of 2011.
Musselman was named Most Outstanding Goalie of the Pacific Coast League after her junior season (2011), recording 331 saves for Corona del Mar High School. Musselman netted a season-high-tying 18 saves in a Division I semifinal contest against Foothill. She also claimed 2011 Dream Team Player of the Year accolades from the Daily Pilot.
Pratt, from Burlingame High School in San Mateo County, earned Most Valuable Player honors as a senior this fall in the Peninsula Athletic League's Bay Division. As a junior in 2011, Pratt captured All-CIF Central Coast Section Division II accolades.
Tielmann, hailing from British Columbia, helped lead Canada's U-17 squad to the gold medal at the Youth Pan American Games in Puerto Rico last summer. She also represented her native Canada at a U-18 tournament in the Netherlands and Hungary in the summer of 2010. Tielmann participates in the Canadian Select League, where women from all levels of the national team system are organized into five teams and compete in a tournament.
Williams captured first-team All-CIF Southern Section Division I honors as a junior in 2011. Last summer, she was selected to the USA Water Polo Youth National Travel Team.
