LOS ANGELES - Senior forward Sydney Leroux punched in her third game-winning goal of the season on Friday evening, as the fourth-ranked UCLA women's soccer team downed SMU, 1-0 in a non-conference showdown at Drake Stadium. With the win, the Bruins remain undefeated on the season at 5-0-1, while the Mustangs move to 3-3 on the year.

Leroux put UCLA on the board just 10 minutes into Friday's contest, as she ran onto a long pass played up through the middle by sophomore Jenna Richmond. With just one defender to beat, Leroux cut to her left before unleashing a left-footed shot to the right corner from about 15 yards out. SMU goalkeeper Courtney Webb made a diving attempt at the ball, however Leroux's shot was placed too perfectly. It marked Leroux's team-leading fourth goal of the season.

The Bruins owned a 13-1 advantage in the final shot count, forcing Webb to finish with a match-high six saves. Bruin goalkeeper Katelyn Rowland saved the Mustangs' only shot of the evening.

UCLA improves to 3-0 all-time against SMU.

UCLA returns to Drake Stadium on Sunday, hosting Fresno State at 7:00 p.m.
