GUADALAJARA, Mexico - UCLA's Gisselle Naranjo, Sarah Orozco and Priscilla Orozco have been selected to compete for Mexico's national women's water polo team at the Pan American Games set for Oct. 23-29 in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Priscilla Orozco starred for the Bruins from 2008-11, helping lead the Bruins to consecutive NCAA titles in 2008 and 2009. Sarah Orozco and Naranjo return to UCLA in 2012 for their senior and junior seasons, respectively.
UCLA's trio of Mexican National Team competitors will join a pair of former UCLA standouts - Courtney Mathewson and Kelly Rulon - at the Pan American Games. As announced last week, Mathewson and Rulon will participate for the United States' national women's team.
In four seasons at UCLA, Priscilla Orozco scored 165 goals in 123 career matches, helping the Bruins compile a 106-21 record in that span. Her sister, Sarah, has tallied 56 goals in 94 career contests the last three years, notching 83 earned exclusions and 27 steals.
Naranjo has been a key contributor for UCLA the last two years, scoring eight goals on 19 attempts while collecting 16 steals and eight earned exclusions in 21 matches.
The 16th annual Pan American Games will be the largest multi-sport event to take place outside of the nation's capital of Mexico City.
