UCLA Baseball Tabbed No. 21 in USA Today/ESPN Coaches Preseason Poll

Los Angeles - The UCLA baseball team has earned a No. 21 ranking in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches preseason top-25 poll. Earlier this month, the Bruins were tabbed No. 13 by Baseball America, No. 16 by Rivals.com and No. 26 by Collegiate Baseball.

UCLA and three other Pac-10 Conference schools were ranked in the top 25 of the USA Today/ESPN Coaches poll - Arizona State (14), Oregon State (15) and Stanford (25). The Bruins will play 38 games versus teams ranked or receiving votes in the coaches poll, including 20 contests against top-25 squads.

Rice earned the top spot in the coaches poll, leading the way with 22 first-place votes (of 31 possible). Clemson (four first-place votes), Miami, South Carolina and North Carolina round out the top five.

UCLA opens the 2007 season at home with a three-game series versus Winthrop on Friday, Feb. 2. Game time is 6 p.m. The Bruins and Eagles square off Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.
