NINTH-RANKED BRUINS SET TO FACE #1 ARIZONA STATE
The defending national champion and ninth-ranked Bruins (28-7, 4-2 Pac-10) embark on their first Pac-10 road trip, facing top-ranked Arizona State (37-4, 4-2) in Tempe this weekend. Friday and Saturday's games start at 7 p.m. and Sunday's contest begins at 12 p.m. Gametracker and free live audio will be available at UCLABruins.com.

ON DECK
The last two national champions will square off at Easton Stadium next weekend when 2010 champ UCLA faces `09 champ Washington. The series will be played Thursday through Saturday due to the Easter weekend, with game times at 7 p.m., 6 p.m. and 12 p.m. Gametracker and free live audio will be available at UCLABruins.com.

BRUINS IN THE POLLS
The Bruins fell three spots to ninth in this week's USA Today/NFCA Top 25 poll and slipped one position to 11th in the latest ESPN.com/USA Softball rankings. The Bruins tied Arizona for first in the Pac-10 preseason rankings, with each team receiving four first-place votes and 46 points.

NEWS AND NOTES
Senior GiOnna DiSalvatore became UCLA's all-time leader in doubles with her 60th in the first inning of last Saturday's game against Stanford. DiSalvatore is also in the Bruin Top 10 in four other categories ... senior Donna Kerr pitched in all three games of the Stanford series last weekend. She is first on the team with a 1.69 earned run average and 110 strikeouts ... junior Samantha Camuso made her season debut on April 6 against Loyola Marymount after undergoing hip surgery in December. She went 3-for-15 (.200) in four games last week ... junior Andrea Harrison continues to lead the Bruins in all three triple crown categories with a .430 batting average, 12 home runs and 42 runs batted in. She will wear #18 for the remainder of the season to honor her sister Monica, who will not play this year due to an injury ... freshman Talee Snow has hits in 12 of her last 14 games in which she has posted at least one official at-bat, batting .412 (14-for-34) with 11 RBI during that stretch ... freshman Jessica Hall leads the Bruin pitching staff with 14 wins and 109 1/3 innings. She is tied for 45th in the nation in victories ... sophomore B.B. Bates produced her second-career, four-hit game against Loyola Marymount. Her first came against Utah State on Feb. 20 ... junior Aleah Macon has pitched in six of the Bruins' last seven games. She tossed a career-best 8 2/3 innings in Friday's win against Stanford ... freshman Kellie Fox has three separate hitting streaks of nine, nine and eight games this season. She has hits in 20 of her last 23 contests and in 30 of 35 overall ... junior Katie Schroeder has hits in 13 of her last 15 games, batting .434 with two homers, 10 RBI and eight multiple-hit contests during that stretch ... freshman Alyssa Tiumalu has four home runs over her last 10 games, including a game-tying, two-run shot in the bottom of the seventh inning against Stanford last Friday ... junior Dani Yudin is tied for second on the team with 22 walks. She has been issued a free pass multiple times in a game on seven occasions ... Kelly Inouye-Perez earned her 200th-career victory on March 11 against Sacramento State and is 211-56 as the head coach ... the Bruins lost for the first time this season on Saturday when scoring in the first inning. UCLA is 18-1 in 2011 when scoring in its first at-bat and 39-2 over the last two years ... the Bruins also lost for the first time on Sunday against Stanford to drop to 6-1 ... UCLA has posted 11 mercy-rule wins, six shutouts and 11 comeback victories ... the Bruins have hit two or more homers 16 times and are undefeated ... 96 of the Bruins' 241 runs have been scored via the home run (39.8 percent of their runs) ... UCLA has four homers in a game four times this season ... the Bruins have four grand slams (Yudin 2, Fox and Harrison 1), nine three-run homers, 15 two-run shots and 23 solo bombs ... 105 of UCLA's 241 runs have been scored with two outs (43.6%). Harrison leads the way with 20 two-out RBI, followed by Bates with 17, Fox (14) and Yudin (13) ... the Bruins' .458 on base percentage is on pace to shatter the single-season record of .432, which was set last year.

BRUINS IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Junior Andrea Harrison is in the national Top 50 in six statistical categories, ranking 14th in slugging (.890), 15th in on base percentage (.564), 17th in RBI per game (1.20), tied for 18th in homers per game (0.34), 25th in walks per game (0.74) and 35th in batting average (.430). Freshman Talee Snow is tied for 19th with 0.27 sacrifice hits per game, while senior GiOnna DiSalvatore is tied for 34th in doubles per game (0.34). As a team, UCLA is in the nation's Top 50 in six categories. The Bruins are seventh in homers per game (1.46), tied for eighth in doubles per game (1.71), ninth in slugging (.573), 11th in runs per game (6.89) and batting average (.338) and 35th in earned run average (2.04). BRUINS IN THE PAC-10 RANKINGS
The Bruins are in the top half of the Pac-10 in 13 offensive categories, including second in on base percentage (.458), doubles (60) and walks (176). UCLA is first in hit by pitches (36) and sacrifice hits (25), tied for second in sacrifice flies (10) and fourth in batting average (.338), slugging (.573), runs scored (241), hits (313), runs batted in (230), home runs (51) and total bases (530). In the circle, the Bruins are second in opposing batting average (.201) and fourth in earned run average (2.04) and strikeouts (233). Junior Andrea Harrison is in the Pac-10 Top 10 in 10 offensive categories, ranking second in slugging (.890), tied for third with 12 home runs and fourth with 42 runs batted in. SCOUTING THE ARIZONA STATE SUN DEVILS
The Sun Devils are 37-4 on the season and 4-2 in Pac-10 play after winning their second-straight conference series last weekend in Oregon. In both Pac-10 road series against California and Oregon, Arizona State has won on Friday and Saturday, but lost on Sunday. The Sun Devils own a 6-3 record against ranked teams. As a team, ASU is batting .370 with 55 home runs and 38 stolen bases, averaging 8.4 runs per game. All nine starters are hitting above .300, led by junior Katelyn Boyd, who is tops on the squad with a .465 batting average, 12 home runs, 44 runs batted in, 12 doubles and 14 stolen bases. Freshman Alix Johnson is batting .400 with three homers and 30 RBI, while senior Krista Donnenwirth is hitting .394 with four homers and 36 RBI. In the circle, freshman Dallas Escobedo leads the team with a 1.44 earned run average, an 18-2 record and 172 strikeouts in 117 innings. Redshirt freshman Mackenzie Popescue is 10-2 with a 1.70 ERA and 50 strikeouts in 74 1/3 innings. Clint Myers is in his sixth year at Arizona State and holds a record of 301-104.

THE SERIES: BRUINS VS. SUN DEVILS
Home-field advantage isn't what it's cracked up to be in the UCLA-Arizona State series of late, as the visiting team has claimed the last seven contests, including a Sun Devil three-game sweep last year by scores of 8-5, 4-2 and 2-1 (April 9-11). In 2009, the Bruins produced a 9-1, five-inning win and a 10-4 triumph in Tempe. UCLA leads the all-time series 88-26 and is 38-11 at Arizona State.
