#11 UCLA HUNTING WINS AGAINST #9 WASHINGTON
The defending national champion and 11th-ranked Bruins (29-9, 5-4 Pac-10) host #9 Washington (30-6, 5-4) this week at Easton Stadium. Thursday's game starts at 7 p.m., Friday's begins at 6 p.m. and Saturday's starts at 12 p.m. Gametracker and free live audio will be available at UCLABruins.com.

BRUINS IN THE POLLS
The Bruins dropped two spots in both polls this week, falling to 11th in the USA Today/NFCA Top 25 poll and to 13th in the ESPN.com/USA Softball rankings. The Bruins tied Arizona for first in the Pac-10 preseason rankings, with each team receiving four first-place votes and 46 points.

Senior GiOnna DiSalvatore became UCLA's all-time leader in doubles with her 60th in the first inning of an April 9 game against Stanford. The team leader in doubles with 13 had another one on Sunday to give her 61 for her career ... senior Donna Kerr is in the UCLA all-time Top 10 in three categories. She is sixth in appearances (109), eighth in strikeouts (664) and 10th in wins (62) ... junior Samantha Camuso made her season debut on April 6 against Loyola Marymount. She has started at designated player six times and at first base once ... junior Andrea Harrison leads the Bruins in all three triple crown categories, as well as in slugging, on base and walks. A Top 25 finalist for the USA Softball Player of the Year award, Harrison will wear #18 for the rest of the season to honor her sister Monica, who will not play this year due to an injury ... freshman Talee Snow leads the Bruins and all Pac-10 players in sacrifice hits with nine. She posted hits in each of her first six conference contests ... freshman Jessica Hall is tops on the pitching staff in wins with 14 and innings pitched with 112.2. She is tied for seventh among Pac-10 hurlers in wins and eighth in innings ... sophomore B.B. Bates picked up her 30th career, multiple-hit game on Sunday at Arizona State. Her 13 multi-hit contests this season are tied for second on the club ... junior Aleah Macon has appeared in nine of the Bruins' last 10 games. All 14 of her contests in the circle this season have come in relief, including Friday when she earned her fifth save at UCLA to move into a tie for third in school history ... freshman Kellie Fox belted her second grand slam of the season on Friday against Arizona State. She joins junior Dani Yudin as a member of the two grand slam club in 2011 ... junior Katie Schroeder leads the Bruins with 14 multiple-hit games and has 54 for her career. She had six during her recent eight-game hit streak (March 13-April 6) ... freshman Alyssa Tiumalu produced a pair of singles last weekend in Tempe. She is fourth on the team with a .352 batting average to go along with six home runs ... Yudin also had two singles against the Sun Devils. She is third on the team with 23 walks and a .483 on base percentage ... Kelly Inouye-Perez earned her 200th-career victory on March 11 against Sacramento State and is 212-58 as the head coach ... the Bruins improved to 19-1 this season on Friday when scoring in their first at-bat. They are 40-2 when accomplishing the feat over the past two seasons ... UCLA has posted 11 mercy-rule wins, six shutouts and 11 comeback victories ... the Bruins have hit two or more homers 16 times and are undefeated ... 100 of the Bruins' 245 runs have been scored via the home run (40.8 percent of their runs) ... UCLA has four homers in a game four times this season ... the Bruins have five grand slams (Fox and Yudin 2, Harrison 1), nine three-run homers, 15 two-run shots and 23 solo bombs ... 109 of UCLA's 245 runs have been scored with two outs (44.5%). Harrison leads the way with 20 two-out RBI, followed by Fox with 18, Bates (17) and Yudin (13) ... the Bruins' .444 on base percentage is on pace to break the single-season record of .432, which was set last year.
BRUINS IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Junior Andrea Harrison is in the national Top 50 in five statistical categories, ranking 30th in slugging (.817), 33rd in RBI per game (1.11), 34th in on base percentage (.528), 35th in home runs (12) and 39th in walks per game (0.68). As a team, the Bruins are eighth in homers per game (1.37), 13th in runs per game (6.45) and slugging (.548), 16th in doubles per game (1.61), 18th in batting average (.326) and 38th in earned run average (2.11). BRUINS IN THE PAC-10 RANKINGS
The Bruins are in the top half of the Pac-10 in 11 offensive categories, rankings first in sacrifice hits (27) and hit by pitches (38) and second in doubles (61). UCLA is also tied for second in sacrifice flies (10), third in on base percentage (.444) and walks (180) and fourth in slugging (.548), runs scored (245), runs batted in (234), home runs (52) and total bases (546). In the circle, UCLA is second in opposing batting average (.202) and fifth in earned run average (2.11) and strikeouts (251). Junior Andrea Harrison is in the Pac-10 Top 10 in eight offensive categories, ranking tied for third with 12 home runs, fifth with an .817 slugging and tied for fifth with 42 runs batted in. Freshman Talee Snow is first with nine sacrifice hits, while freshman Kellie Fox is tied for second with six sac bunts. Senior GiOnna DiSalvatore is tied for fourth with 13 doubles, while in the circle, junior Aleah Macon is tied for third with two saves. SCOUTING THE WASHINGTON HUSKIES
The Huskies dropped their first Pac-10 series last weekend at Arizona, winning game one 3-0 before losing 13-5 in five innings and 6-1 on the weekend. Washington took two of three at home against Oregon and California during the first two weekends of conference action. The Huskies are hitting .358 as a team with 53 home runs and 45 stolen bases, averaging 8.1 runs per game. Four players are hitting .400 or better, led by junior Kimi Pohlman, who is batting .480 with a team-best 18 stolen bases. Junior Taylor Smith is tied for the team lead with 10 homers, adding a .444 average and 32 RBI, junior Niki Williams also has 10 home runs and a .424 average with a team-high 40 RBI, while senior Jenn Salling is batting .400 with five homers and 37 RBI. Three others are also hitting above .300. In the circle, freshman Kaitlin Ingelsby leads the squad with an 18-3 record, a 2.11 earned run average and 95 strikeouts in 116 innings. Three others have started at least six games for the Huskies, including freshman Bryana Walker, who is 3-3 with a 4.69 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 28 1/3 innings. Heather Tarr is in her seventh year at Washington and has a record of 273-118-1.
THE SERIES: BRUINS VS. HUSKIES
UCLA holds a 44-24 all-time lead in the series with Washington, but the Huskies took two of three last year in Seattle. The Bruins opened the series with a 1-0 victory on April 1 behind an eight-strikeout performance by Donna Kerr and a go-ahead RBI single by Dani Yudin in the sixth. After play on April 2 was suspended by rain following three innings, Washington came back to post 3-1 and 7-2 victories on April 3 to take the series. The Bruins are 19-9 at home against the Huskies and have won three in a row, including a two-game sweep on April 10 and 11, 2009 by scores of 2-0 in 11 innings and 10-0 in five. Washington's last win at Easton Stadium was an 8-6 triumph on April 7, 2007.
