SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The UCLA women's rowing team finished seventh overall at the 2008 Pac-10 Championships on Lake Natoma on Sunday afternoon. The Bruins totaled 35 team points out of seven Pac-10 contenders.
UCLA's varsity eight crew rowed to a first-place finish in the Petite Final, posting a time of 6:53.30, finishing ahead of Gonzaga (6:55.70), Western Washington (6:58.20), UC Davis (7:00.60) and Sacramento State (7:10.90).
The Bruins' second varsity eight finished first in the Petite Final, crossing the finish line in 7:03.90. UCLA's second varsity crew finished ahead of Gonzaga (7:09.10), UC Davis (7:14.60), Sacramento State (7:19.20) and Western Washington (7:33.80).
UCLA bested Stanford in the varsity four Petite Final, registering a finish time of 7:58.30. Stanford crossed the finish line in 8:04.70.
The Bruins also claimed a first-place finish in the novice eight Petite Final, finishing ahead of Sacramento State (7:33.80), Stanford (7:40.20) and USC (7:47.80).
In the point standings, California claimed the Pac-10 Championship, totaling 79 points. Stanford finished second with 61 points and Washington State was third with 59 points. Washington (57), Oregon State (51), USC (50) and UCLA (35) rounded out the conference competition.
