The UCLA divers had a solid competition on day one of the Bruin Invitational as senior Laura Winn led the way in the final with a third-place finish on three-meter. Winn was third overall with a score of 284.20.
In the semifinal round, Winn finished first with a total of 278.05. Guzman was fifth (252.95), McNamara was sixth (248.35), Silva was eighth (245.85) and Maggy Boyd finished 13th (228.15). Boyd just missed a spot in the final round by .45 points.
In the prelims on three-meter, Guzman was the top finisher as she scored 288.95. Winn finished fourth (280.25), Silva was seventh (269.65), McNamara was eighth (257.45) and Boyd was 12th (243.85).
Competition continues on Saturday with the one-meter springboard. Tower will be contested on Sunday.
