Los Angeles, Calif. - The UCLA women's rowing team will travel down to San Diego this weekend to participate in the annual San Diego Crew Classic on Saturday, Mar. 31 and Sunday, Apr. 1. The Bruins will race five boats in preliminary heats on Saturday before competing in final races on Sunday.
The Bruins' varsity eight heat on Saturday will include Pac-12 foes USC and Washington State, as well as Virgina, Texas and Alabama. The race will begin at 9 am. UCLA's varsity four will then race at 9:10 am against Virginia, Clemson, USC, Oklahoma, British Columbia and San Diego State.
UCLA's second varsity eight will compete at 10:30 am in a heat against California, Washington State, Iowa, Oklahoma, Alabama and Sacramento State. Then the Bruins' novice eight will take to the water at 11:40 am to take on USC, San Diego State, Minnesota, California, Clemson and Texas.
The Bruins will wrap up their day by racing an open eight crew at 1:50 pm against the Royal Air Force Rowing Club, UC San Diego, UC Irvine, BMA Boat Club, San Diego and British Columbia.
