Dawn Harper, the reigning Olympic Champion in the 100m hurdles, qualified for her first World Championship team on Saturday as she finished third in the finals at the USATF Senior National Championships in Eugene, OR. Harper surged over the final hurdle to sneak into the third and final qualifying spot for the world team as the Bruin alum ran 12.65. Today's win marked her second USATF Senior National crown.
Harper started off her day by winning heat three in a time of 12.58 to automatically advance to the final round. She had the fourth-fastest time in the semis.
In the senior pole vault, former All-American Katy Viuf tied for ninth with a clearance of 13-9.25.
