Swimming & Diving Holds End of Year Banquet

The UCLA swimming and diving team held their end of year banquet and senior recognition event this past Saturday.

The Bruins celebrated the 2011-2012 season and announced 10 award winners. The Most Valuable Swimmer was senior Yasi Jahanshahi, while freshman Emma Ivory-Ganja took home Most Valuable Diver accolades. Ivory-Ganja also earned the Iron Effort award for the dive team, an honor which goes to the top performer in the weight room.

Sophomore Kathryn Murphy earned the High Point award, while Most Improved was Andrea Reigel. The Outstanding Newcomer award went to breaststroke/IM specialist Noelle Tarazona.

Senior Bianca Casciari took home two awards - the Iron Effort award for swimming and the Bruin Pride award.

Sophomore Anna Senko received the Competitive Greatness award and junior Kelsey Hall took home the Academic Excellence award.
