LOS ANGELES - Senior Ben Hohl recorded a game-high four goals to lead the No. 3 UCLA men's water polo team past No. 19 Pomona-Pitzer, 9-4, in a non-conference match at Spieker Aquatics Center in the second game of the Bruins' Saturday afternoon doubleheader.

Earlier in the day, UCLA downed No. 12 UC San Diego, 12-4. With Saturday's pair of victories, the Bruins extended their win streak to a season-high six games.

In the win over Pomona-Pitzer (12-13), Hohl notched his team-leading 11th multiple-goal game of the season. The senior from Atherton, Calif., has now registered 135 career goals, moving him into ninth place on UCLA's all-time goals list, trailing Adam Wright's 138-goal total by three scores.

The Bruins (14-3) also received one goal each from senior Kevin Kuga, sophomore Josh Samuels and freshmen Clayton McFadden, Cristiano Mirarchi and Zach Wherry.

Each team traded two goals in the opening frame before UCLA outscored Pomona-Pitzer, 3-1, in the second period to assume a 5-3 halftime advantage. The Bruins used a 3-0 scoring run in the third quarter to claim an 8-3 lead.

Tied at 2-2 following the first quarter, Samuels (7:32) and Hohl (6:59) scored consecutive goals to hand the Bruins a 4-2 cushion. After Pomona-Pitzer's Jaron Moler scored with 4:32 to play in the first half, Hohl netted his third goal of the match to push UCLA ahead, 5-3.

Ensuing goals in the third quarter from Hohl (4:39) on a 6-on-5 opportunity, Mirarchi (3:26) and Wherry (0:27) handed the Bruins an 8-3 lead.
