Junior attacker Katie Rulon (Point Loma, CA/Univ. of San Diego HS) of the UCLA women's water polo team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week (February 4-10).
Rulon scored 12 goals in UCLA's five wins last week, leading the Bruins to an 8-4 victory over No. 2 USC in the championship match of the Stanford Invitational on Sunday with a two-goal performance. She scored three goals each against San Jose State and Hawai'i and had two-goal games against Michigan and Hartwick. Rulon, who has scored two goals or more in each of 10 matches this season, leads the team with 26 goals. UCLA remains perfect with a 10-0 record and No. 1 national ranking.
This is Rulon's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of her career.
