The UCLA Bruins will open the Rick Neuheisel Era on Labor Day evening against Tennessee. The Monday, Sept. 1 game at the Rose Bowl will be televised nationally by ESPN and will kick off at 5:00 pm PDT. The game was originally scheduled for Saturday, September 6.
In addition, UCLA's contest against Fresno State, originally scheduled for Saturday, August 30, has been moved to Saturday, September 27. That contest will be televised by ABC, ESPN or ESPN 2.
"We are excited to be facing Tennessee in our opener," said Neuheisel. "I couldn't think of a better way to begin my coaching career at UCLA than by playing one of the top programs in the nation on Labor Day evening.
"It makes the schedule even tougher, because we are now playing an outstanding Fresno State team in between two conference opponents, but I know our players will rise to the challenge."
