LOS ANGELES - Three Bruin relief pitchers limited Oregon to one run and three hits through 7.1 innings, leading the No. 5 UCLA baseball team past the Ducks, 8-6, before 1,510 at Steele Field at Jackie Robinson Stadium in a Pac-12 contest Saturday afternoon.

UCLA (21-7, 8-4 Pac-12) overcame an early 5-2 deficit, salvaging the series finale after having lost the first two games of the Pac-12 series against Oregon (20-9, 8-4) on Thursday and Friday.

David Berg (4-0) secured the win in relief, tossing two hitless innings. Berg had two strikeouts after having logged seven strikeouts in 3.2 innings of relief on Friday evening. Zack Weiss limited the Ducks to one run and three hits in 4.1 innings, taking over for starting pitcher Grant Watson in the top of the second inning.

Scott Griggs recorded three outs in order in the top of the ninth inning to notch his Pac-12-leading seventh save.

Oregon's Jeff Gold (3-2) was tagged with the loss, allowing one run and two hits in one inning of relief.

Neither starting pitcher threw more than four innings. UCLA's Grant Watson exited in the second inning, having surrendered five runs (one earned) and four hits in 1.2 innings. Oregon's Brando Tessar allowed five runs and six hits through four innings.

UCLA pounded out 12 hits and scored in four of its final five offensive innings. Beau Amaral, Trevor Brown, Cody Keefer and Pat Valaika each went 2-for-4. Keefer had one double, one run and one RBI, while Amaral scored a team-leading two runs and extended his hitting streak to a team-leading 14 games.

Trailing 6-5 after six innings, the Bruins scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to take a 7-6 lead before adding one run in the eighth. Eric Filia-Snyder lined the first pitch of his pinch-hit at-bat up the middle to score Gelalich and tie the game. Filia-Snyder stole second base and moved to third on a single to left by Valaika, who was thrown out attempting to advance to second base. Filia-Snyder scored on a wild pitch on the next at-bat.

The Bruins added one insurance run in the eighth inning on a run-scoring double to right field by Keefer, who sent home Amaral from third base with one out.

UCLA led 2-0 after the first inning before Oregon scored five runs (one earned) in the fifth. The Bruins tied the game by scoring one run in the fourth and two in the fifth. The Ducks took a 6-5 lead with one run in the top of the sixth.

Brett Thomas went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI for Oregon. The Ducks also received two hits from J.J. Altobelli (2-for-3, one run, one RBI) and Aaron Payne (2-for-4, one RBI).

UCLA returns to action against Cal State Fullerton on Tuesday, April 10. Game time at Jackie Robinson Stadium is 6 p.m. Tickets cost $7 for adults and $5 for youth (ages 16 and under).
