Sept. 25, 2012
Sophomore attacker Paul Reynolds (Santa Ana, Calif./Foothill HS) of the UCLA men's water polo team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Sept. 17-23.
Reynolds led No. 2 UCLA with a career-high six goals in the team's only game of the week, a 16-8 home victory over No. 10 Loyola Marymount. Reynolds scored his six goals on just six shots. His previous high in scoring was four goals, established last year in a win at LMU. The six goals were the highest by a Bruin this season, and tied for the highest by a Bruin in 177 games or nearly seven years (David Pietsch had six goals in a 10-8 win over UC Irvine on Oct. 1, 2005). Reynolds entered the week with just nine goals in the previous 12 contests.
This is Reynold's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of his career.
